VILLAGES - BARTOSZ ZASKÓRSKI
A made-up research on the made-up villages conducted using made-up and undefined methodology. The word „village” is here a tentative (in terms of possible associations connected with the word) starting point: the village turns out to be an isolated realm, studied by an invisible researcher, whose reality is defined by the inhabitants’ fixations. Project done in the Laboratory for Literature Interpretation of Grzegorz Hańderek, PhD., in 2014-2015. The films were displayed at Mlode Wilki 2014 festival and at the following exhibitions: Zmyślenie (CSW Kronika, Bytom), Mocne stąpanie po ziemi (BWA Katowice, BWA Tarnow, 2015) and Co ukryte (State Art Gallery, Sopot, 2015).

Born in 1987, inhabitant of small polish village Żytno and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. He specializes in narrative drawing, narrative audio plays writing and recording, music album cover art, book design, as well as audio installations. He is the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków PhD student in Dariusz Vasina and Jakub Woynarowicz workshop. As a musician he performs as Mchy i Porosty („Mosses and Lichens”), playing quirky, melancholic danceable music. Recently his first vinyl record was released by Brutaż label. The record tells the story of a black beach.

Zmyślone badanie zmyślonych miejscowości z użyciem zmyślonej i niesprecyzowanej metodologii. Słowo „wieś” jest niezobowiązującym (w sensie narzucanych przez to słowo skojarzeń) punktem wyjścia: wieś okazuje się odizolowaną od zewnętrznego świata krainą, badaną przez niewidzialnego badacza, której rzeczywistość określona jest przez fiksacje mieszkańców. Ścieżka dźwiękowa jest zbudowana z nagrań terenowych, skradzionych sampli oraz rozmaitych odgłosów wygenerowanych przez analogowe urządzenia leżące na podłodze bądź na biurku. Głos narratora jest głosem człowieka znudzonego, zmęczonego swoją pracą, polegającą na byciu niewidzialnym, badaniu omawianych wsi, pisaniu sprawozdań i referowaniu ich.

Ur. 1987. Studia na ASP Katowice. Zajmuje się rysunkiem narracyjnym, projektuje książki, pisze i nagrywa słuchowiska, tworzy obiekty. Doktorant w pracowni Dariusza Vasiny oraz Jakuba Woynarowskiego na ASP w Krakowie. Jako muzyk działa pod nazwą Mchy i Porosty, na ogół gra smutną, taneczną muzykę. W 2017 ukazała się jego debiutancka płyta nakładem Recognition Records oraz winylowa EP nakładem Brutażu. Pochodzi ze wsi Żytno.
